Note:
Consumer having connected load/contract demand above 50
KW or 60KVA determined as per clause 3 below and already
availing supply at LT shall be classed as HT consumer
and shall be billed as relevant HT Tariff.
Categorisation
of Consumers and applicability of the different LT &
HT Rates
DOMESTIC:
This
rate shall be applicable only for energy supplied for
lights, fans, heating, cooling and other equipment used
for domestic purposes in establishments exclusively for
private dwelling.
This
rate shall also be applicable for the following
categories of consumers:-
-
All
religious and spiritual institutions like churches,
temples, mosques, gurudwaras etc.
-
Hospitals,
dispensaries, Primary Health Centres etc, run by the
government or charitable/religious/social
organisations on non-profit /non-commercial basis.
However, private hospitals, nursing homes &
clinics etc. will be excluded from the purview of
the above schedule.
-
Schools,
colleges, boarding houses, student hostels etc. run
by by the government or charitable/religious and
registered social organisations on non-profit
/non-commercial basis. This will exclude schools,
colleges, boarding houses, student hostels etc that
run on commercial basis for private gain.
-
Ashrams,
Dharamshala, Dormitories, Community Halls/ Durbar
shnong etc. that run on non-profit basis.
COMMERCIAL:
This
rate shall be applicable for energy supplied for lights,
fans, heating, cooling and other equipment used for
commercial purposes in all commercial, trading, business
and professionals establishments, shops, banks, hotels,
offices, restaurants, cinema halls, petrol pumps,
nursing homes, chemist, dispensaries, advertisements,
boarding/signs, exhibitions, fairs, consular office etc.
and shall also be applicable to all supplies which do
not fall under any other specific category.
It
is mandatory on the part of commercial consumers having
motive power loads and welding transformers to use LT
Capacitors. Such consumers who have not installed LT
Capacitors of appropriate rating of ISI specification
will be charged surcharge as applicable per month or
part thereof as per Board's terms and conditions of
supply with schedule of miscellaneous charges.
Note:
Mixed domestic and commercial establishments shall be
treated as commercial establishments.
INDUSTRIAL:
This
rate shall be applicable for energy supplied for
industrial purposes for motors and all other apparatus
in industrial and manufacturing establishments.
AGRICULTURE:
This
rate shall be applicable to irrigation pumping for
agriculture purposes only.
PUBLIC
WATER WORKS:
This
rate shall be applicable for water and sewerage pumping
installations of Government, municipalities,
corporations and other local bodies used for public
utility water supply schemes.
PUBLIC
LIGHTING:
This
rate shall be applicable to public street lighting
system in municipality/town committee/panchayat etc.,
including signal systems and road and park lighting in
areas of the municipality/town committee/panchayat etc.
TEMPORARY
SUPPLY (LT & HT)
-
Temporary
supply shall be distinctly wired and on a separate
circuit.
-
Maximum
period of temporary supply shall be for a period of
3 months but may be extended at the discretion of
the supplier.
GENERAL
BULK SUPPLY (HT) & GENERAL PURPOSES (LT):
For
all supplies not covered by any other rates.
CONTRACT
DEMAND FOR HIGH VOLTAGE (HT SUPPLY):
Contract
demand shall not be less than 80% of the connected load
subject to the minimum of 60KVA or 50KW.
ASSESSMENT
OF BILLING DEMAND (HT SUPPLY):
Billing
demand in a month shall be the highest of the following:

The
maximum demand establish during the month.
-
80%
of the highest demand established during preceding
11 months.
-
75%
of the contract demand.
-
Not
lower than 50KW or 60KVA
