Umiam
Stage-III was the next stage of development in the Umtru
basin. The power house with 2 units of 30 MW each was
commissioned in the early part of 1979.
With
the commissioning of Stage-III power station, the total
installed capacity from the four power stations in the
Umiam-Umtru basin was 125 MW with an available firm
power of 37 MW. The machines installed in this power
house are from Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, India.
